Õpilased joonistasid kavandeid. Nende hulgast valisime välja oma projekti logo. Slaidiprogramm algab enim hääli saanud logoga.

Meil oli seal oma boks, kus demonstreerisime kunstiõpetaja Jaana juhendamisel valminud mängu, pakkusime võileibu, seinal näitasime filme ja pildiprogramme.
Messi külastasid ka meie Comeniuse leivaprojekti partnerid.

Not only the weather but also the atmosphere of the beautiful natural landscape provided that the time we spent in this splendid part of the Northern Slovakia was an unforgetable experience for all of us- children and adults.
We came here to learn about the process of making bread in the past but learned much more- about the great respect to people´s life and even greater respect to all natural features which are basis for humans to survive and live a worthy life .
We found out much about very sophisticated old tools and machines used in the past to make the life simplier. Children saw how difficult it was to live in the past and had time to think about their ancestors´ life.
We were lectured about bread- making process in the past and we could also taste newly baked bread made from different grains .
The actors all dressed in period costumes and using period equipment demonstrated the functions of the different kinds of tools and taught us everything from recognizing different kinds of grains to kneading and baking the bread loaves.How lovely they tasted you can guess!!!!!!!!!!!

Sillaotsa farmstead Museum
Study Visit to Sillaotsa Farmyard – Museum
Students from grades 1 – 5 visited Sillaotsa Farmyard- Museum and participated in the Bread Programme. The children learned to identify various grain varieties grown in Estonia, among them, the variety from which our black bread is made – rye. They were shown ancient farm tools : a grain beater and a sickle and it was explained to them how they were used in the old days. The most interesting part of the visit was when the children were able to see dough being kneaded in the mixing vessel. Every student could try his/her hand in adding flour and shaping scones. After a short quizz and browsing around in the museum, everybody could taste warm bread, which was washed down with milk and tea. That bread did taste good!

NEAC konverentsil "Feeding, culture and society" Varnas, Bulgaarias osalesid Maiu Plumer ja Mait Tõitoja.
Maiu Plumer esines ettekandega leivaprojektist ja tutvustas eesti koolileiba.
Koolileiva andis kaasa leivaliidu tegevjuht Arnold Kimber.

Bread' round Europe - slovak bread group
Our headmaster also told us stories from his childhood- his father would even bend down on his knees and kiss the field which was going to be " the nice, warm and life-giving bed" for the grain for a few months during the cold winter and cool spring. He would say a prayer and then he would seed the grain from a special hand- made canvas bag .
Now when we have the grain seeded we are looking forward to see how it is growing in the spring but before that we are looking forward to see other works which must have been done before eating a nice, crispy and tasty slice of bread.
On 28 October we are going to visit the Museum of Traditional Way of Life where we will learn other important things about threshing the grain, making bread dough and baking bread.

Lenno 8.kl: Oli huvitav päev. Nägin, kuidas rukkiteri saadi viljapeast kätte, kuidas vilja puhastati ja purustati. Näidati vanu tööriistu ja nende kasutamist. Nägin 1919. aasta aurumasinat. Saime näha leiva tegemist ja maitsesime värskelt küpsetatud leiba.
Evely 8.kl: Muuseumigiid jutustas meile, kuidas vanasti rukist kasvatati, lõigati, rehte peksti. Nägin erinevaid tööriistu. Sain näha, kuidas leiba valmistati ja maitsesin värskelt küpsetatud leiba.
Mariliis 6. kl: Sain teada, kuidas vilja peksti ja teri sõeluti. Teri sõeluti suure sõela sees. Tegime leiba ja sain maitsta koolileiba.
Siiri 8.kl: Näidati, kuidas vilja peksti ja sain ka ise seda proovida. Nägin tööriistu, millega vilja peksti. Vanasti peksid vilja enamasti naised. Näidati, kuidas vilja jahvatati ja saime ka ise jahvatamist proovida. Meile näidati erinevaid tööriistu. Nägime, kuidas leiba tehti ning saime ka ise leiva tegemist proovida ja värsket leiba maitsta. Meile näidati ka filmi sellest, kuidas vanasti inimesed põllul töötasid. Seal mängiti suurt põrandamängu - see oli väga huvitav ja õpetlik. Seda mängu oleks põnev veel edaspidigi mängida.
Janne-Liisa 8.kl: Sain teada, kuidas vanasti vilja võeti, seoti, pärast peksti. Näidati vanu tööriistu ja masinaid. Üks masin oli seal 89 aastat vana. Leivaküpsetusruumis tegid Kaido ja Sass leiba. Meie sõime eelmise grupi küpsetatud leiba.
Siiri: See oli tore päev ja selliseid võiks rohkemgi olla.
Merje: Oli väga tore ja sisukas päev. Tänud neile, kes aitasid selle päeva läbi viia.

Merje , Grade 7: On the first Thursday in October, the students of our school from grades 6-9 visited the museum of Agriculture of Estonia near Tartu. At the museum we were shown old tools and machinery. We could try our hand in thrashing and grinding grain. We could also try home-made bread. We also visited a grain-dryer near Adavere. We saw both modern and a bit older harvesting eqipment there.
Lenno, Grade 8: It was an interesting day. I saw how it was possible to get seeds out of rye ears, how harvested grain was cleaned and ground. I saw old tools and how they were used. I also saw an old steam engine, which dates back to the year 1919. We saw bread being made and tasted newly baked bread.
Evely, Grade 8: The guide told us how rye used to be grown, harvested and thrashed in the old times. I saw different tools. I also witnessed how bread was being made and tasted newly baked bread.
Mariliis, Grade 6: I found out how grain was thrashed and sifted. Grain was sifted in a big sieve. We made bread as well and I could taste school bread.
Siiri, Grade 8: We were shown how grain was thrashed and tried our hand in it. I saw tools which were used for thrasing grain. In old times it was mostly women who thrashed grain. We were also shown how grain was ground and tried it ourselves. We were shown various tools. We saw bread being made and tried it ourselves and tasted fresh bread. We were also shown a film about how people used to work in the fields in the old times. We could also try our luck in an exciting huge board game, which was played on the floor – it was really interesting and very informative. I’d like to try that game in the future again.
Janne-Liisa, Grade 8: I found out how in the old days grain was harvested, tied and later ground. We were shown old tools and machines. One of them was 89 years old. Kaido and Sass prepared dough in the museum’s bakery. We ate the bread baked by the group that had visited the museum before us.
Siiri: It was an enjoyable day and I wish there were more such days.

The children received a thorough overview of how bread is obtained, starting from everything connected with growing grain and finishing with tasting newly baked bread.
The children learned to distinguish between different varieties of grain, they were able to try their hand in threshing and airing grain. They were also lectured on the history and importance of bread.
